This two-day event begins Friday at 11:00am and promises to be fun for everyone in the family! Stop into the downtowns local art galleries to see amazing work being displayed by talented artists from all over the Valley. There will be artwork displayed in numerous different forms such as paintings, sculptures, light installations, photography and much more. There will be live demonstrations, art performances, vendors and live music by local band Union of None. Union of None will be performing Friday at 5:00pm until 8:30pm at the Buffalo on 4th and Main Street. You will not want to miss this year&amp;rsquo;s new addition to the art festival &amp;ldquo;Electric Art&amp;rdquo; which are traffic signal boxes on 4th and 5th street that will be painted in real time. If the answer is yes on Friday September 28th at 7:00pm head on over to the Avalon Theatre downtown for a feature showing of the popular biking movie American Flyers. This popular movie is a hit with cycling enthusiasts and even shows footage of the famous Coors International Bicycle Classic which is held in the Colorado Rockies. Tickets to see this movie are $20+tax per person and include a specialty cocktail and appetizers. You are welcome to come dressed as your favorite character from the movie. Prizes will be awarded before the movie begins. &amp;nbsp;Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Doors open at 7:00pm and the movie will begin at 8:30pm. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Starting on Thursday September 27th and happening all weekend long the Grand Valley Kennel Club AKC All Breed Dog Show will be taking place at the Mesa County Fairgrounds. Come out and see the best in show compete for awards and bragging rights. This family friendly event is free to attend. Parking is $5. Open from 8:00am-4:00pm daily.On Saturday beginning at 7:30am until noon the Farm and Ranch Market will be open to the public at Cross Orchids Historic Site. Featuring the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, produce and much more from farms all around the valley. It is Family Fun and Appreciation Day at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens on Saturday September 29th. Doors open at 10:00am and there will be something to do for everyone in the family! There will be a live performance by Chris Mabrey who is the popular Master of Comedy Hypnosis. This event rose to popularity in the 1980&amp;rsquo;s with the Coors International Bicycle Classic bike race followed up by the popular cycling movie &amp;ldquo;American Flyers&amp;rdquo;. Imagine the riding with the majestic red rock canyons, monoliths and Colorado National Monument as your view. This ride is one of premier recreational rides in the Western United states and is a &amp;ldquo;bucket list&amp;rdquo; ride by many in the cyclist community.Cyclists will choose between a 41-mile Classic Loop and the 62-mile bike course, with both courses starting and ending at the Two Rivers Convention Center located in downtown Grand Junction. Because both courses will take riders through the Colorado National Monument they are required to have a white light that is visible from a minimum distance of 500 feet to the front and a red light that is visible at a minimum of 200 feet in the back. The race this year is being limited to the first 2,000 cyclists who register so be sure to register at Icon Tour of the Moon before the event is sold out. Your registration fee includes a custom jersey, entrance into the Colorado National Monument, fully stocked aid stations, route support, the Harvest Moon Celebration including a post ride lunch, beer garden and lots of live entertainment. This free 3-day event celebrates the farming communities harvest and has been one of the towns biggest celebration for over 100 years. The festival hours are 3:00-10:00pm Friday, 9:00am-10:00pm Saturday, and Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm. Alpine Bank, Family Health West, and the Fruita Rotary Club are just a few of the Fruita businesses sponsoring this event. If you love live music you will not want to miss the Fruita Fall Festival as there is an impressive line up of bands scheduled to perform on two stages, including Julie Roberts, Kory Brunson Band, Danny Barnes, Freeway Donna and much more! &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The carnival is always a good time for the kids and the young at heart.
