What’s Happening Around Grand Junction this Weekend

After a long and busy work week it is always fun to relax and enjoy some fun activities with loved ones around town. Here are some of the events you will want to mark down on your to do calendar this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, the KAFM Community Radio is the place to be as they celebrate the amazingly talented artists of The Grand Valley at the annual Gallery 88.1 Art Auction. On Friday beginning at 8:00pm the doors will open for guests to preview the art. Enjoy beverages and appetizers and enjoy socializing with the artists. Then on Saturday at 5:00pm there will be a reception and the fine art auction will begin at 7:00pm. Gallery 88.1 is open from 9:00am until 4:00pm on February 4th through the 8th for guests to view the art.

Bring the whole family Saturday to the First Church of the Nazarene for the Valentine’s Day Craft Fair and Family Fun Day from 9:00am until 3:00pm. There will be 38 local vendors on site, face painting and fun activities for the kids, and food trucks serving up tasty food for everyone.

Saturday and Sunday night head to the Avalon Theatre for Mozart’s “Great G minor Symphony” No. 40 at 7:30pm on Saturday and 3:00pm on Sunday. The Grand Junction Symphony will be hosting an open reception immediately following the concert that will be honoring the Grand Junction Symphony’s 40th Anniversary Season.
