It is never to early to start making plans for the upcoming weekend. Fall is in full swing in Grand Junction and our amazing city has lots of fun activities and events happening. Here are a few of our favorites!
Friday and Saturday evening join Grand Junction High School as they showcase their presentation of the Tony-Winning play Peter and the Star Catcher. Learn all about the back story of the boy who would not grow up (a.k.a Peter Pan). The curtain goes up Friday and Saturday evening at 7:00pm and again at 1:00pm on Saturday the 10th. Please visit Peter and the Star Catcher to purchase advance discounted tickets and for additional show information. Show tickets can also be purchased at the door for $10 for students and seniors or $13 for adults.
Friday night head to the Avalon Theatre for Mountainfilm on Tour. This inspiring event is from 6:00pm until 10:00pm and is all about experiencing heart pounding and exhilarating outdoor adventures through films. Inspiring viewers to create a better world. There will be a mini food drive with the proceeds helping to benefit the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction. Guests can also participate in a silent auction. Tickets for this event are $15 and can be purchased at Mountain Film on Tour.
Saturday and Sunday the Mesa County Fairgrounds will be the home of J$ Cattle Co. Team Roping & Barrel Racing. This is a free event, with barrel racing beginning at 10:00am and roping at noon. Spend the day watching some exciting competitions!
On Sunday enjoy celebrating Veteran’s Day at the iconic and majestic Colorado National Monument. On this day The National Park Service is offering free admission to the monument for everyone not just military and Veterans.
